City Zoning Code Meetings

The City of Malibu plans to update and streamline the municipal zoning code and seeks input from community stakeholders on the strengths and weaknesses of the current code and suggestions for possible changes.
Lisa Wise Consulting has been hired to conduct what the city calls “group stakeholder interviews” throughout the day on Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the Zuma Room at City Hall.
The Zoning Ordinance Revisions and Code Enforcement Subcommittee, or ZORACES, will conduct a general public meeting from 9 to 10 a.m.
At 10 a.m., permit expediters, planners, attorneys, and project managers will address what their interests seek. An RSVP is required.
At 11 a.m., architects, developers, and tradespeople will hold court. An RSVP is required.
After a two-hour break until 2 p.m., the business community, including the Chamber of Commerce, will then provide its input. An RSVP is required.
At 3 p.m., residents, community groups, property owners and tenants will be interviewed.
Afterward at 4 p.m., what is described by the city as a “free for all” is open to everyone. No RSVP is required.
